Refund Policy
This policy explains when Zenit may consider a refund for products or services purchased from us.
Last updated: 12 August 2026
1. Purpose
This policy applies to products and services supplied by Zenit Tech (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/036575/07) ("Zenit", "we", "us" or "our"). It sets out the circumstances in which Zenit may consider a refund.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or waives a right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Mandatory rights under applicable South African law always apply.
This policy applies subject to any specific terms contained in an accepted quotation, proposal, statement of work, service agreement, order form or other written agreement between Zenit and the customer. Where specific contractual terms have been agreed, they take precedence to the extent permitted by law. This policy applies where no more specific terms have been agreed.
2. General Principle
Payments properly charged by Zenit are generally non-refundable, subject to applicable law, the relevant customer agreement and the circumstances set out below.
Refunds are not automatically granted, but may be provided:
- where required by applicable South African law;
- where Zenit is unable to provide the agreed product or service;
- where an incorrect or duplicate payment has been made; or
- in exceptional circumstances approved by Zenit.
A customer's change of mind, change in internal requirements, budget constraints, change in personnel, failure to obtain internal approval, non-use of a purchased product or service, or failure to make use of a confirmed booking will not ordinarily constitute grounds for a refund.
3. Services Already Rendered
Refunds are not ordinarily provided for services already properly rendered or work already completed.
Where a project or service has commenced, Zenit will be entitled to retain or recover payment for:
- work completed up to the date of cancellation or refund request;
- time and resources allocated or committed;
- licences, assessments, materials or other items procured or activated;
- third-party costs incurred;
- reasonable administrative and project costs; and
- any other non-recoverable costs reasonably incurred in fulfilling the customer's order.
Where applicable law requires a refund in respect of only part of a service, the refund will be limited to the portion required by law.
4. Software Subscriptions
Unless the applicable subscription terms state otherwise, cancelling a software subscription prevents the next renewal and does not ordinarily create a refund for the current paid billing period. Access will ordinarily continue until the end of that paid billing period.
Prepaid annual subscriptions are ordinarily non-refundable once the subscription term has started. Zenit may provide a refund or credit where a billing error or duplicate payment occurs, Zenit is unable to provide the agreed service, or applicable law requires it.
Upgrades, downgrades, add-ons, usage credits and other subscription changes are governed by the applicable subscription, billing or order terms.
5. Digital Products and Licences
To the fullest extent permitted by law, refunds will not ordinarily be provided for licences, assessment credits, reports, digital content or similar items that have already been:
- issued;
- activated;
- accessed;
- downloaded;
- generated;
- allocated to a customer or participant; or
- otherwise made available for use.
Unused products, credits or licences will not automatically qualify for a cash refund. At Zenit's discretion, a credit, substitution or transfer may be offered instead.
6. Customer-Supplied Information
Zenit will not be responsible for costs arising from incorrect, incomplete or outdated information supplied by the customer.
Where work must be repeated, corrected or reissued because of information, instructions or data supplied by the customer, the associated costs may be charged to the customer and will not qualify for a refund.
7. Refund Requests
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to billing@zenit-tech.co.za and must include:
- the customer name;
- relevant invoice, quotation or order reference;
- the amount being requested;
- the reason for the request; and
- relevant supporting information.
Submitting a refund request does not create an entitlement to a refund.
8. Approved Refunds
Where a refund is approved, Zenit may first deduct any amounts lawfully due to Zenit, including charges for services rendered, products supplied, third-party costs and other reasonable costs incurred. Any approved refund will ordinarily be made to the original payer using an appropriate payment method.
9. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or any other applicable South African legislation.
